Experts cool on feds’ infra plans
Despite acknowledging that it was a step in the right direction for the market, some have expressed concern surrounding the long-term viability of the proposals.
"Almost irrespective of the merits and demerits of the individual components of the plan, it does not look like something which is going to produce a bill which will have a rapid, unscathed passage through Congress,” said Mike Matheou, foreign legal consultant and partner at Hogan Lovells. “This is needed to actually mobilize cash leading to new projects, which would not otherwise proceed.”
